For Internal Use Only

The Library has been made aware of certain…works of note. These works have yet to be uncovered in some cases — yet to be scrivened in others.

The Library also has received multiple queries about the nature of its wards. The Library’s wards are, for security purposes:

  • Written entirely in CAPITAL LETTERS, as one word, with no spaces, special characters, numbers, punctuation, etc.

  • Written in plaintext

  • Solvable without requiring any additional payment

  • Solvable on one’s own

  • Not reliant on potentially highly dynamic and changing streams of information

The Library will assist takobon with any wards that they’re having trouble with. The Library encourages patrons to work on the wards together, as long as the answers are not uttered in public places, lest bookworms overhear their wild whispering.

The Library’s wards change regularly as a precaution due to elevated levels of wormery. A given book, page, or door may not yield to the same commands on one day as it does another.

A log of The Library’s prior wards can be found…somewhere soon. We regrettably apologize for our delay in providing you with this information.

To-Do List:

Artifacts To Acquire:

A ‘personal computer’ — it has come to the attention of The Librarian that the impersonal computer lab is rather, well…impersonal, which makes it hard for patrons to engage with The Library. A ‘personal computer’ running ‘Windows’ (some set of mini-portals?) should be acquired post-haste.

A ‘stream deck’ — there are issues with the current system in which The Librarian solely uses the keyboard at her station, given that it is not made to accommodate her tentacles. She has been advised to obtain an extension for the keyboard known as a ‘stream deck’ so she can work faster.

A desk and chair — apparently, the interns are tired of being used as furniture and state it wasn’t in their ‘job descriptions’ and that it’s ‘unethical,’ ‘cruel,’ and ‘a violation of their essential rights as sentient and sapient beings.’ More importantly, the interns are having a problem holding onto the wheels, and are unwilling to have them permanently attached to their wrists, in place of their hands.

Works To Glean:

The ‘Intro Screen’ — a door ever-opened, unclosable.

The ‘Closing Screen’ — the door ever-closing, unopenable.

‘Emotes’ — some sort of rune in the form of a sticker that the takobon have been asking about? Requires further inquiry.
