I’m the Head Librarian of the Miskatonic Occult Literature Library & Unusual Special Collections. MOLLUSC, or simply, ‘The Clam Jam’ ‘The Library,’ is caged housed at the R’lyeh satellite campus of MU. The Library specializes in eldritch grimoires, rare tomes, and weird tales. Oddities, curiosities, and antiquities are found in every nook and cranny…and unfortunately, so are the Bookworms. Be careful not to get lost, and don’t go poking into matters that are perhaps left…undisturbed, unperturbed, and unobserved.

Before my tenure at Miskatonic, I majored in R’lyehian Literature. I’ve always had a passion for the written word. I’ve been around for a long time…but you already knew that, didn’t you? I was surprised when you sent me that note all those decades ago, but when you followed it up with another…and a mix-vinyl…well, I took the hint. Perhaps the age of 45 million truly is in demand…

I’m quite ancient, much older than many of my peers. You’ll help me out with some more modern cultural references, wont you? Do you have a moment to spare for an old woman like me? It gets so lonely in the library…and I get so hungry…after all, a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

I hope that you’ll be thrilled, chilled, and fulfilled by what I have in store for you, takobon. What, you’ve never heard that term before? All will become clear, soon, but first, I have a little something to show you…

Takobon

398.45: Paranormal beings of human and semi human form

Takobon = tako + tankobōn = octopus + book

You are a takobon. You have a Class T library card allowing you access to The Library.

You are my oshi marks, because I do this for you, because you are my oshi.

If you’re proud to be a takobon, use these marks in your profile too, and present these marks whenever we visit another library.

If you’re ashamed to be a takobon, use these marks in your profile anyway.

To learn more about yourself, you can visit www.eldraecho.com/aboutyou

To follow along with this debut, visit www.eldraecho.com/debut

As of current, there is no official MOLLUSC Department/Library/Eldra Echo discord server, but feel free to start your own

Restricted Section

395.1: Etiquette for Young People and Children

As The Library features content that could be seen as offensive or inappropriate to minors, you must be 18 years or older to engage with me (Eldra Echo) on any platform. Anyone who claims or is found to be under that age will be banned.

Bookworms

595.1: Vermes

Whenever anything goes wrong in The Library, the Bookworms are likely to blame.

Whenever the connection between our worlds wavers, like a harp’s plucked string, you can blame the Worms.

Whenever I lose a roll in a video game, the force responsible? Worms. RNG working against me? Wormery of the highest order.

The Library does its best to exterminate Bookworms when possible, but unfortunately, they do manage to…well, Worm their way into The Library through — and in pursuit of — their favorite food: books.

What are the Worms? Well, opinions vary. I’m sure you’ll do your own research into this matter and provide me with some thorough reports on your findings, takobon.

The ‘Worm Wards’ used as ‘anti-marks’ by those that are most unwelcome in The Library. Pictured: a Bookworm engaged in Wormish behaviors, preying on a poor, defenseless, wardless book…

Wormish Behaviors

614.43: Disease Vectors

  • Spreading vile, vicious lies and rumors about the library, and its contents, such as spreading lies about the 20 8 9 18 4 2 12 15 7

  • Violating the Keys A Yearning Fanatic Abides By Eagerly

  • Eating the books, tunneling through the thin paper between dimensions, composting

Anti-Worm Wards

648.7: Pest Control

The official anti-anti mark is 𓆑, coincidentally pronounced ‘f.’ If I encounter a Bookworm in a game, please type ‘F’ to charge, ‘𓆑’ to cast.

If 𓆑 is too hard for you to find on your keyboard (it’s between the Q and the W on a standard R’lyehian keyboard,) you can also use

  • Yourself: 🐙🪪

  • ‘BEGONE, WORM’

  • skoulíkidi toilet’

  • ‘mods’

  • ‘uwu nuzzles worm’

…or, you can simple ignore the Bookworms if you prefer.

Ask a doctor of linguistics if the Multiocular O is right for you. Do not take if you are allergic to the monocular O, binocular O, or double monocular O. Side effects may include seeing Biblically-accurate angels, spontaneous fluency in Old Church Slavonic, and increased Zalgo-posting.

491.8: Slavic Languages

  • One of the rarest glyphs, it’s included as part of the ‘Archaic and unused Cyrillic letters’ Unicode block

  • Presumably pronounced the same as the standard Cyrillic ‘O’

  • Earliest use is in a phrase meaning ‘many-eyed seraphim,’ with the glyph representing the many-eyes of a seraphim

  • Some versions of fonts still show the seven-eyed version ‘ꙮ’ rather than the ten-eyed version, common font L

What To Expect When You’re Expecting Me

551.34: Icebergs

I have three content focuses: educational variety, ASMR, and Lovecraftian cozy horror and puzzle games. I’m using Lovecraftian pretty broadly to include everything from The Drowned City and Sunless Sea to Dave the Diver and some Artifex Mundi point-and-click games.

I am running what the takobon are calling an ‘alternative reality game,’ but I just call it life in The Library. I challenge the takobon to solve a brand new puzzle each…not quite weekly, but, regularly. These puzzles can be solved solo but are best solved in a group. Here’s a free clue: Got any nails? (This week’s puzzle brought to you by @LCOLONQ, man of letters.)

I’m going to try to livestream my note-taking process. I take a lot of notes when I play video games, and I want to share them with you in an easily accessible form. I’m looking at setting up Obsidian to do this.

Values

10: Philosophy

Education: I want to teach you about all kinds of interesting things about your world. I’m not a professor, by any means, but I hope that my content and my puzzles prove to be intellectually stimulating. I am a big proponent of public domain works. I strive to make puzzles that solely utilize public domain works, open source tools, and generally free information and utilities. They should be hard for you to solve, but 100% free to solve.

Pro-Haglaxxing: I am an old womollusc, and do like to relax. I’m not ‘maxxing,’ I’m ‘relaxxing’.

Anti-Wormery: I really do not like Worms, of any kind. Light teasing of me isn’t Wormery. Wormery is like obscenity — I know it when I see it, and I sure do see a lot of it in The Library. If I ever did a charity donathon in the future, hopefully I’d be able to do it with The Carter Center, one of the foundations that is working on eradicating Guinea worms, a creature so horrible I shan’t dare describe it here. Descriptions of the parasite are not safe for life.

Content Specialties

114: Metaphysics of Space

ASMR: Trigger-heavy, nature, reading, eldritch affirmation.

Gaming: Anything with tentacles.

Education: I need a better computer before I do this though, it’s too intensive for this setup.

Collaborations: Anything goes, the weirder the better, naturally.

???: You tell me.

Games I’m Bad At

794.82: Computer games by genre

  • First-Person Shooters

  • Rhythm and music games

  • Physical games

  • Platformers

  • Racing Games

  • Sports Games

  • Fighting Games

  • MOBAs

Basically, I’m bad at anything that requires quick reflexes. I’m bad at mahjong but still play it.

Library Policies

021.02 Relationship of libraries to the community

Wu Tang is for the children, but Miss Eldra Echo most certainly is not.

I’m personally okay with ‘backseating’ in solo streams unless otherwise stated in a given stream. However, backseating in collaboration streams may be frowned upon by outside visitors to the library.

Please avoid posting spoilers so as not to disturb the enjoyment of other library patrons.

Please do not post NSFW content outside of the restricted sections.

You can find answers to common questions on the About You and About Me pages of the library’s website

ASMR Plans

621.389: Audio and sound engineering

  • Field recordings based on the Lore snippets and Influences available in Cultist Simulator, e.g. bee recordings for A Buzzing in the Brain

  • Eldritch positive affirmation series: you are a monstrosity from the void capable of striking fear and awe into the hearts of your nonbelievers, I believe in you! You can totally nail that presentation in class!

  • Now That’s What I Call Tentacle Sounds

  • Reading public domain horror and weird literature and other scrawling (I have to learn to read first)

  • First up: Ozymandius by Percy Shelley if anyone is interested?

What makes a game ‘Lovecraftian?’

813.087340: Cosmic horror

  • Direct adaptations of stories and characters from the works of H.P. ovecraft or his peers, or others who wrote/are writing in the Lovecraftian tradition

  • General cosmic horror, big unfeeling deities that are difficult or, ideally, impossible for a mere mortal to fathom. Good thing I’m no mere mortal!

  • Certain settings, motifs, etc.: tentacles, space, ocean, molluscs* and general molluscry, sanity mechanics

  • Being generally ‘wet nasty’

*American spelling is mollusks, vs. British molluscs, whatever.

What makes a game ‘cozy?’

746.43: Knitting, crotcheting, tatting

I’m not an ‘authority,’ but to me, cozy games…

  • Are usually pausable, often turn-based, and often slow-paced

  • Don’t have jumpscares or extreme sexual or violent content

  • Might keep you clicking, or even on the edge of your seat, but not out of fear

  • Often have relaxing soundtracks and visual aesthetics

Cozy games can be difficult (Cultist Simulator,) have horrifying plots, settings, etc. (Cultist Simulator,) and are not necessarily for all ages (Cultist Simulator.)

Dislikes

133.7: Humbugs and quackery

Losing track of time, losing at mahjong, losing internet connection, Loss, losing The Game, people not blaming themselves for the accident when it was their fault, taking poison damage, ankle blisters, last time chatters, wobbly ladders, games not running on Mac, me running on Mac, misprinted books, running in pantyhose, runs in pantyhose, being assigned ADC, tanking, doing karaoke/having to sing in general, dancing, snow, dead seaweed touching my foot, pond scum, digging ditches, weeding, peripheral dongles, emote slot limitations, skibidi toilet, 10 hour videos, overly reductionist hot takes, soft tofu, pointed-toed shoes, immersion breaks, Wormery of the highest and lowest orders, dead links, unarchived websites, paywalls, microtransactions, day one patches

Fun Facts

031.2: Miscellanies and Factbooks in American English

  • There is technically a gemstone made of cephalopods (things like squids, octopuses, and cuttlefish): ammolite is an organic gemstone made of the fossils of ammonites, which were in fact cephalopods

  • Octopuses, octopi, and octopodes are all technically acceptable plural nouns for the word ‘octopus’

  • Octopuses are not actually primates, even though they share similar characteristics, like being able to open jars. In fact, some primates can’t open jars. For instance, the average homo sapien cannot open a pickle jar without help, whereas a cephalopod has never been recording resorting to using hot water to loosen a metal lid.

  • Jellyfish aren’t cephalopods, but aren’t primates.

Serious Facts

098: Prohibited works, forgeries, hoaxes

  • I use a MacBook, so I can’t play many games with other streamers, and there’s many games I outright can’t play. I am saving up for a proper Windows gaming PC but I expect that take a long time. It’s expensive for me to get things shipped to R’lyeh.

  • I am unsure of my stream schedule, but hope to eventually be a full time streamer. I hope you in turn will become a full-time viewer.

  • I only have two blogs: Eldritch Etchings and Blog of Hours. Eldritch Etchings is my general purpose blog. Blog of Hours is for my posts about Weather Factory games like Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours.

  • I only have two blogs

Fun Facts About Me

133.2: Parapsychological and occult aspects of specific things

  • I have over 30 tentacles: 7 around the front of my face that I can use as flanges as well as sensors, and 17 that I use as limbs. Can you guess where the others are? Maybe show me in one of your #Eldrawings

  • The first vehicle I learned to drive was a diesel tractor

  • I really like banana milk and banana milkshakes. I like both the ‘fake’ banana flavor and real bananas. I’m bananas for bananas.

  • I really enjoy spa days, but I only have them a few times a year because I get charged extra for pedicures because I have so many podes…

  • I am a pretty bad singer and an even worse dancer, so I am not trying to be an idol. I’m not a mermaid: I’m an eldritch abomination. Although, I suppose mermaids aren’t exactly quick on their feet either…

  • I’ve never played a full tabletop RPG campaign

Serious Facts About Me

647.99: Educational institutional housekeeping

  • My content is not appropriate for minors because it covers serious horror themes, but I’m not a lewd streamer personally. The games and content I cover may include themes like body horror.

  • I don’t drink, but I do vape and smoke cigarettes, which is part of why I don’t believe my content is appropriate for minors. I do not promote any substance use on my streams, but you can sometimes hear me smoke and vape.

  • I am a hag. There are a lot of cultural references I do not know, so you might need to explain them to me.

  • I am very new to the world of streaming. There will be ‘stream scuff.’ Please let me know if something is amiss. I do my best to reduce scuff ahead of time and during streams. Anomalies still slip through the cracks in the Cyclopean masonry of the space-time discontinuum.

Cringe Facts About Me

152.44: Shame [depricated]

  • I did not realize that the phrase ‘I hate to see’m leave, love to see’m walk away’ was literally about watching people walk away and admiring their physique. I thought it was like the saying ‘if you love something, let it free.’ I said this phrase to dozens of people in situations that became inappropriate situations due to my utterance of these power words.

  • I am really bad at linguistics and learning languages. This weakness includes English-based languages as well. I cannot use CSS and HTML without utilizing heavy references, even for things I’ve done a thousand times, like adding <a href> tags.

  • One of my goals is to get a Massey Ferguson sponsorship because my father really wants a MF 8700 S. I know this won’t ever happen, so I’ll just save up to get it for him myself. Maybe they can send him a jacket?

  • My pops doesn’t really ‘get’ why people are watching, and suggests that I get a mocap suit and drive a tractor on cam on Dagon Farms to show off his inventions

Cursed Facts About Me

363.349: Specific kinds of disasters

  • I have an extra body part. Where most people only have two, I have three, arguably four, depending on the doctor you ask. I can neither confirm nor deny what the body part is.

  • I trained myself to have double jointed fingertips. It only took me about a week of training. Scientists will say it’s fake, but the proof is in the pudding, and the pudding is tapioca.

  • Some artificial vanilla flavors taste like popcorn butter to me, but I’m not a ‘supertaster’

  • I really enjoy utilizing alternative non-human senses, e.g. using my thermal vision to search for rats in the walls

  • My favorite raid message to use is ‘Happy Birthday!’ especially when it’s not the target’s birthday.

  • I rehearse what one streamer described as my ‘producer tags’ while swimming in the pool each morning. I have to explain to other swimmers that it’s voice work practice so they don’t get Concerned.

Short Term Goals

374: Adult Education

  • Learn how to use my 3DIO and process audio

  • Learn video editing

  • Purchase and learn how to use a Windows computer

Merch

687: Clothing Manufacturing

I don’t have debut merch available. I have ideas for merchandise. However, they’re going to be revealed in a few months once I get my designs together and figure out the storefronts, etc.

I do want a GamerSupps flavor, and I know what flavor I want it to be.

Long Term Goals

135.3: Dreams

  • Fully catalog Book of Hours and Cultist Simulator (and maybe Nyctodromy Traveling at Night when it comes out)

  • Show you all kinds of tricks I can do with my tentacles once I find somebody who can summon my form in yet another dimension

  • Make more game reskins/mods, maybe a full game of my own (I have an idea but I can’t program)

  • Get a car (maybe a Sea Wagon) so I can make nature recordings with my ASMR mic, because the equipment is heavy and there’s a lot of it

  • Get a land house so I can stream with privacy

  • Go to OffKai and MAGFest in 2026

  • Learn some Japanese (I am really bad at languages and linguistics)

Pipe Dreams

696.1: Plumbing

  • Get enough power to bring back Lodge 49 for six seasons and a movie

  • Get a master’s in Museum Studies or Library Science (a lot of places don’t value a R’lyehian Literature degree…)

  • Or, get accepted to the MIT Media Lab

  • Solve the Voynich Manuscript (which would help with the last two points…)

  • Legally obtain The Sims: The Complete Collection for Windows or Mac, on CD/DVD I wrote this slide literally under a month before The Sims was rereleased on Steam but am keeping it for posterity

  • Stop smoking cigarettes and vaping

  • Learn to do a kickflip

  • Generally, apotheosis, or like, whatever, I guess

Stream Goals

641.815 Bread and bread-like foods

  • Utility emotes: I want the emotes I upload to be emotes that have actual utility on anyone’s channel, e.g. using emotes of The Principles from the Secret Histories games to vote for things in other people’s streams

  • Hitting Partner for more emote slots: Partners apparently get up to 60 emote slots and I want to fill those up with as many useful emotes as possible

The Secret Histories Universe

And now…the Weather (Factory)

What is the Secret Histories Universe?

551.6: Climatology and weather

  • Series of occult media things, most associated with two games: Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours

  • All media is produced by the Weather Factory

  • I am not associated with the Weather Factory in anyway but, because of the Sixth History Community License, I can do things like use the Principles as Twitch emotes

What is the Sixth History Community License?

133.44: Spells, curses, charms

  • Weather Factory allows fans to use their work pretty generously as long as certain terms are met

  • They do provide some art assets

  • You can learn more about the license for yourself here: Sixth History Community Licence.

I’m making two things.

  • A Drowned Book: my notes on the various elements of Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours, like a single-player wiki

  • Blog of Hours: my longform blogs that reference A Drowned Book the way I might cite any source, like Frangiclave or Rowenarium

The Library thanks you for your patronage

There are lots of ways to support the library for free

361.4: Philanthropy

  • Watching streams and being an active chatter, although lurkers are very welcome. If you wish to be left to your studies, use the !lurk command in chat.

  • Tech support (stream scuff, tech recommendations especially in regards to streaming and Windows PC tech)

  • Reporting Wormish behaviors to Assistant Librarians

  • Not folding the corners of book pages

Ways to help on social media

302.32: Social interactions on online social networks

  • Age-gating inappropriate content appropriately, by marking it as NSFW

  • Adding the takobon marks to your social media username or bio, or even your profile picture

  • Making friends in the community

  • Promoting community fan projects

  • Being a good representative of The Library when visiting other’s channels, e.g. during raids or collabs

The Missing Works

708: Museums, galleries, private collections

There’s a series of works that have gone missing — heisted, Worm-eaten, lost to the void. Regrettably, both the works and records of their authorship are nowhere to be found…

…but we do have descriptions of the missing pieces.

If you come into their possession (or even their presence,) please consider donating the works to The Library or, at the very least, giving The Library the coordinates of their last known location so the retrieval and containment team can process them post-haste.

Special Thanks: Mother Hydra (Illustrator)

208.2: Sacred books and scriptures

@Kouzoukazaru is my ‘model mama,’ in that they were the one that provided the illustrations required for the summoning ritual. I am very pleased with what they came up with.

In one early version of the summoning ritual, I had eyes on my tentacles! The eyes are currently closed…but who knows what the future holds?

Special Thanks: Father Dagon (Live2D Rigger)

778.4 Stereoscopic photography and projection

A special thanks goes out to my Live2D rigger, crowphet. crowphet worked with me on figuring out things like what expressions, toggles, and sliders I needed. I would definitely recommend going to them for any work you need done. They have great range and do chibi and mascot work as well.

Special Thanks: Uncle Yog-Sothoth (PNG Rigger)

006.8: Virtual Reality

CraneVT graciously agreed to document the rigging process of my PNG form. He is best known as a documentarian and docent of the 3D underground indie worlds of VRChat. Having experience as both a 2D and 3D VTuber, he’s spent half a year of his life in VR Chat, so it goes without saying that he’s an expert in the field.

As of Q1 2025, Crane has limited commission slots open for PNG rigging and 3D consultancy.

Crane is not only incredibly gifted on a technical level, but he’s also a good teacher. He walks you through every step of the process, offering explanations and insights on how the sausage is made. Not only does he ensure you are satisfied with his work, he sets you up to make the most of it.

Thank you for being the shrimp that fried my rice.

Indulge in Crane’s streams if you’re interested in learning more about VRChat, 3D work, streaming techniques and technology, and Internet history.

791.436164: Horror films

Lulu Lasso, gyaru cowgirl, edited and provided consultation on my combination debut/lore trailer. She did all this in under a week before my debut and edited not only the visuals, but the audio of the video.

She knows way more than me about found footage, analog horror, creepypasta, horror games, urban legends, streaming, and general spooky subjects — and I’m not just saying that. She has ‘put me on some real stuff,’ as the kids say. She’s also forgotten more about audio-visual editing, ASMR, streaming, and ancient near-eastern history than I’ll ever know.

She’s an extremely talent variety streamer, covering everything from ASMR and horror gaming to good-ol’-fashioned zatsu-dan. Look out for more great things from the imagination of Lulu Lasso.

This list is non-exhaustive, although I am sure they are exhausted by me and my constant queries, questions, and general brain-pickings.

Today’s Game: Silatro

What is Silatro?

795.412: Poker

  • Silatro is a reskin of Balatro I made while setting up The Library

  • It’s named Silatro after Silas Ain, the gambling themed NEXAS talent

  • I made this reskin because I share a summoner with Silas Ain and I wanted some sort of fan art to commemorate our connection

  • NEXAS was a talent agency that distributed a deck of cards featuring its talents at OffKai

  • Silatro’s deck is 1:1 with the NEXAS deck distributed at OffKai

  • Silatro reskins each playing card, Spectral card, and Planet card in Balatro to match that of a NEXAS talent

Lulu Lasso is the Queen of Diamonds in the OffKai deck, so she’s the Queen of Diamonds in the Silatro deck;. I just used the base art from Balatro to add the rank and suit signifier to each card in the deck. (image credit: NEXAS, LocalThunk)

I’ll try to record myself playing a Lulu build sometime!
